Since updating to Sierra I have some issues with automatically connecting to WIFI after waking up the MAC. Have to open WIFI icon and search for my connection. Not the end of the world, but never happened before and I never have any problems with my network, until now.
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
Have you tried opening network preferences>advanced tab>highlighting your connection then clicking "-" to delete it then rejoin the network?
I'm experiencing the exact same thing on my iMac after the upgrade to Sierra. This can start to be a real nuisance.
Any thoughts?

I've tried every way of getting my mac to auto connect after waking/restarting, but I think the mother ship has to send out an update to fix it. I really don't want to go too deep into the inner workings. It should connect because our 3 other devices are connecting fine. Thanks
I am in complete agreement with you there! Everything else connects. Yes, I can follow the directions but I can also make things worse! I'll wait patiently? for the update too!
